OUR FIRST-EVER Chingay children's book is a beautifully illustrated story that introduces the wonders of the Chingay Parade Singapore.  It follows Meena, a young girl determined to build her own Chingay float. Along her journey, Meena discovers Singapore’s vibrant cultural tapestry and teams up with friends from all walks of life to create a ‘little float’, a heartwarming symbol of hope, diversity, and unity. 

What Makes This Book Special 

Singapore and Malaysia have jointly nominated Chingay onto the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in March 2025. Do you have a passion for storytelling and a love for our local heritage? We are looking for energetic volunteers to join the Chingay Storytellers Program - an initiative dedicated to sparking curiosity and multicultural awareness in the hearts of our children.

As a Chingay Storyteller, you’ll be the bridge between generations. You will lead interactive reading sessions at preschools, public libraries, and community roadshows, bringing our specially commissioned children’s books to life. Whether in English or our vernacular languages, your voice will help inspire young minds to appreciate the rich traditions that make Singapore unique.
