Discover Chingay on the Move: Meet "My Little Chingay Float" Truck
"My Little Chingay Float" Truck brings Singapore’s living heritage closer to communities across Singapore while sharing Chingay’s journey towards the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity recognition. Through interactive activities and story-based learning adapted from our children’s book ‘My Little Chingay Float’, the truck allows visitors of all ages to discover and appreciate the multicultural Chingay celebration.
What You Can Experience
The Chingay Education Truck is divided into 5 discovery zones, each offering interactive, fun, and culturally rich activities.
Zone 1: Do you know & Chingay Challenge
Interactive games that will transmit knowledge of Chingay Parade’s history and present-day practices
Zone 2: Be Part of Chingay
An augmented reality booth where visitors will get to “try on” four iconic multiethnic costumes featured in parades of yesteryear
Zone 3: Rhythm of Chingay
Visitors can test their rhythmic acuity with ethnic drums and feel the heartbeat of Chingay
Zone 4: Reimagine Your Chingay Story
Using StoryGen, the National Library Board's generative AI prototype, this zone invites visitors to use their creativity to discover the story of “My Little Chingay Float” through new and interactive experiences
Zone 5: Create Your Chingay Float
Visitors can design their very own digital mini float and watch it appear instantly on the screen as it travels along a virtual Chingay parade
Where Can You See the Truck
Beyond the Chingay celebrations, this mobile learning experience will be going into the heartlands - including preschools, primary schools, community events and more. Keep a look out for it!
